Neiro Drama & Rate Cuts

Softer day for the majors with BTC & SOL down 3% and ETH down 4%. Yesterday there was another assassination attempt on Trump while all eyes will be on the Fed’s interest rate cut decision this week (market is expecting 25-50bps).

Binance listed a $15mm market cap version of Neiro early this morning, sending the token up ~10x while the larger ETH version of Neiro fell 45%. Binance also listed Turbo (+20%) and Babydoge (+82%). We’re also now less than 2 weeks away from CZ being released from jail (bullish?).

Despite today’s pullback, SUI, FTM and POPCAT were the strongest major alts over the last 7 days, each outperforming the majors by double digits. On the day, SAGA & ZRO were alt outperformers (excluding the Binance listing pumps on other tokens). From a mindshare perspective, NEIRO, CAT, SUI and TURBO were leaders on the day.

It was a red day onchain as well with most tokens down 5-10% across the board. There was also notable strength in Tron’s TBULL and in ETH’s DOGE. Gambling appetite for SOL coins continues to bleed out, as illustrated by daily volumes on leading terminal Photon (see below). This also helps explain why newer coins on the chain also have rarely done will in the last month or so.

From an onchain mindshare perspective, NEIRO had an attention explosion with the drama around Binance listing the $15mm market cap token that has duplicates. Other coins still retaining attention included SCF, FWOG, CATE, Mog and SPX.
