AI SZN (and the Terminator)

Another very good day in DEX land. We saw a mix of established and new projects doing well today, with AI being the hottest category in terms of number of profitable tokens. So far in February, TAO (+51%) and TAO beta plays have done very well: AIT (+4.2x) KIZUNA (+54%) , TAONU (17x), TPAD (+48%) and MND (2.85x). Other AI plays have also been performing well, with strong 24hr moves in new launch SORA (after Opensea announcement), AIX, PALM, PAAL and NMT. Will we see the new launch meta rotate back to putting AI in every name (especially after the success of SORA)?

Outside of the AI category, we’ve seen ZKML continue its up only run (we flagged it back at a $4mm market cap here), hitting $13mm today. Other notable degen developments of the day include:

• Serec launched a 3rd version (or is the 4th) of EMERALD, which ran to a $23mm market cap at its peak, and hit $28mm of volume today. Notably, PANDORA traded down ~13% since the launch

• No Handle launched and rugged today (par for the course in 404 land). Legendary sniper Terminator came back from their slumber to snipe this launch, buying ~145e worth of the NO token (and bribing 101e to do so). In total they invested around $700k to snipe the launch, but were only able to sell ~$400k worth of tokens before trading was disabled

• AIUS -53% the AI project’s tech seems to have deteriorated over the last 24hr, losing over half of its value despite the AI up everything environment

• PIER - this multi chain ERC20/404 OTC project launched its today, and is currently a $1.7mm market cap on $2.8mm of volume

• MetaStreet (lending / 404 adjacent project backed by Dragonfly, DCG, Animoca and others) launched its airdrop points campaign yesterday, and had already received $5mm of deposits. From a smart money perspective, we’ve seen the chainEDGE favorites (by number of $10k+ holders) all performing well, with the best performance in BANANA, AGRS, TAO, VDO and MND.

Aggregate degen volume (measured by TG bot volume) has been consistently strong since mid-January after a small lull after the peak of the Solana euphoria around Christmas. ETH vs. SOL remains mostly in line with each other, but this consistent level of volume is important to watch (and to me signals we may be in for some fun for a bit).

WHAT TO WATCH TODAY

• SORA - launched on the back of Opensea’s text to video model named Sora, it seems this project will likely leverage that same tech. Given the performance of GROK, this is likely worth watching as a real AI token proxy. Also a semi-notable milestone here, the ETH Sora is doing better than the Solana version.

• PIER this multichain OTC project for ERC20/404s launched its token today and its marketplace is live. The token trades at a $1.46mm market cap, and has seen $100k worth of smart money buys (who have retained ~65% of their buys, which is high for a brand new launch)

• EMERALDS - 3rd times a charm? The “original” 404 dev launches again, with the project staying alive this time. Not sure if there are improvements vs. PANDORA, but there is a lot of attention on it

• CDY - under the radar token launch today, with the token trading at a $950k market cap as of writing. It provides anonymous and private cloud servers for decentralized AI applications, and received $87k of smart buys today across 25 wallets

• GME - GameStop on Sol bounced ~2x off the lows after trading down only since its 2/6 ATH

• CIRCLE on base continues to grind higher, hitting ATHs today of $7mm

• ZKML - have mentioned this a few issues in a row now, but it keeps going up every day, and I’m starting to see a lot more chatter about it

THINGS TO KEEP ON YOUR RADAR

• Number 404 - have seen smart people start following this upcoming 404/721 launch on Base. It was supposed to launch today, so likely launches tomorrow

• Rosnet - undercover AI project, providing decentralized GPU cloud stuff on Arbitrum. The token launched back on the 8th and I have heard exactly nothing about it since, though its price has been up only, recently hitting a $1.2mm market cap

• MineScale - mining game on Arbitrum that hasn’t launched yet

• WitnessCo - seeing smart follows and they recently raised from Coinbase Ventures

• Concrete - also picking up smart follows and raised a $7.5mm round today

• YES - “the first and last ERC-420 token that only goes up”. Don’t know what it means, but smart follower momentum picked up a lot today

• BLAST - seeing more and more projects building on Blast, appear in my alerts. Don’t know the exact date, but I think BLAST mainnet is coming soon

SMART MONEY CORNER - Powered by chainEDGE

• Smart money was net buyers of SORA, AIUS, PIER, TROLL and of course new launch Shittensor

• Net sell flows were seen in BLUE (-131k), EMERALDS (-91k), RBX (-80k), MUBI (-71k) and DEGEN (61k)

• From a smart money holdings perspective, BANANA continues to be number one, OLAS has started to see smart balances declining, as has VDO. MUBI smart balances are down only, including a -19% in the past 24hr. And finally ASTX saw a whopping -63% decline in smart token balances today.

• Sizable uptick in smart new launch activity today, with $1.7mm of buys coming in to flip EMERALDS, No Handle received $725k of buys (and only $429k of sells were able to make it out before trading was disabled). And then Sora, Ryoshi, Pier and CDY were also notable launches with material smart money involvement. Gumball had the lowest retention of the group (I think I read somewhere today its run by a shady group of devs?)

• Today we’re highlighting a quality trader who doesn’t trade too many coins (~100 vs more active traders hit the thousands). This Early Mover has had solid recent wins in RSTK ($72k), AIUS ($45k) and DEFROGS ($10k) and still continues to hold big positions in RSTK and DEVVE.
